Juan Carlos Valderrama Zurián, holds a PhD in Medicine from the Universitat de València since 2000. He is currently Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Valencia.
His professional career has covered both prevention and care of drug addictions.
He has published over 60 articles in both national journals: Trastornos Adictivos, Adicciones; and international journals: Addiction, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Addictive Behavior; and book chapters in the area of drug dependence. His current research is focused on two main areas, management and transfer of emerging knowledge and epidemiological and qualitative studies focused on immigrant population, on the abuse of anabolic steroids, on the prevention of HIV and HCV infection, and the validation of questionnaires.
